Real Madrid have revealed their summer transfer plans as they prepared to defend their Champions League and LaLiga crowns.

Los Blancos are edging closer to completing a £68million deal for AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

They’ve already signed Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea to bolster their options in defense, although they will see Marcelo, Gareth Bale and Isco all leave this summer – leaving Real with work to do in the transfer window.

The big plans after the additions of Tchouameni and Rudiger are to add competition up front, in goal, and at left-back, according to Marca.

Tchouameni will help provide competition for defensive midfielder Casemiro next season with Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Eduardo Camavinga as other strong options in midfield.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to add another forward to help Karim Benzema, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Eden Hazard next season with Bale and Isco leaving.

They also have Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz available to them, but both appear to be hoping to leave the club for regular first-team football, having fallen down the pecking order.

Back-up goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is reportedly keen to play more and get more opportunities than what he has been given since he arrived at Real in the summer of 2018.

If he is to seek a new opportunity or move on, they will need to replace the Ukrainian, with David Ospina already being heavily linked with his contract due to expire at Napoli in June.

There have plenty of options in defense other than at right-back now with the addition of Rudiger.

At right-back, they have Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez, with David Alaba, Rudiger, Eder Militao and Nacho at centre-back, but with the departure of Marcelo it leaves just Ferland Mendy at left-back.

Fran Garcia will compete for that spot, but it is believed they may look for another option in that position.

It’s not just about signing new deals, however, as Real need to decide what to do with the likes of Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio.

The duo are out of favor are the LaLiga champions, but both remain in contract until the summer of 2023, meaning they could try move them on this summer.

Ceballos still featured 18 times for Ancelotti’s side this season, but predominantly for minimal minutes from the bench.

Asensio, however, featured a lot more regularly with 42 appearances last season, but the addition of another midfielder could see him slip down the pecking order.

Both of their futures are unclear with just one year left on their current contracts – meaning it is now time for Real to decide whether to sell the midfielder or renew their contracts.
